I had trouble coming up with a good title for this post. I figured I’d use the title of a song I had on while thinking about this blog post.

I’ve also deleted and re-written everything in here about 100 times. It’s hard getting your thoughts to flow in a coherent manner without sounding like a…

If I had a Kindle, I’d fill it with books from my childhood

rockuboff:

Take these classics for example -

We’ve all had days like these. Especially in the second grade.

The Swamp! This story = first grade.

Loved the story about ice cream flavors (fat kid)

I used to take this book out of the library every week. I also named my dog Pretzel after this classic.

Had the entire series

Stupid boys. This book always made me crave spaghetti, though.

Anyone remember rhyme that goes with this?

Yes Glenn Beck, let’s restore honor. The people at your rally who Sarah Palin called “patriots” are passing around pictures of the President of the United States with Adolf Hitler’s mustache. You can start restoring honor by talking to the same people standing right in front of you. They’re the problem with this country.

Song of the day/week!-The Clash-Tommy Gun

Well since I am lazy and do not seem to have all the free time I thought I had for this I am not creating a song of the week as opposed to a song of the day.  Every Monday after I wake up I will post song of the week.  This weeks song is by The Clash out of the three early punk bands that really influenced all the music I like The Ramones, The Sex Pistols and The Clash I think The Clash were the most talented and the most diverse.  Dabbling in a reggae sound at times and singing about the strife that was all around them they wrote some of the best punk rock and rock records to ever come out of music.  Like the Clash or not London Calling is one of the best rock records to ever be created.  I picked Tommy Gun for my Clash song Because well it is my favorite that opening drum beat and that first chord alwys got me pumped.  So here it is your song of the week The Clash-Tommy Gun check them out if you never did for some reason. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFHEuKkTa5k&ob=av2e

Song of the day!-The Pixies-Debaser

Continuing my alternative week of music here is one of my favorite bands the Pixies.  I first heard them in 2004 when I was in High School a friend of mine sent me this song Debaser, I have been obsessed ever since.  Doolittle became one of my favorite records of all time their music is so simple sounding yet is so amazingly catchy and well written.  This song Debaser is based around a 1920s silent surrealist film called ” Un Chien Andalou” it is pretty short and I believe you can watch it on youtube in two parts I suggest you do.  Getting to see the Pixies on my birthday this year while they played Doolittle in its entirety it was in my top 10 favorite live shows of all time.  So here it is! The Pixies - Debaser if you do not already listen to this band check out the album Doolittle you will not be disappointed.   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2mCoOlUjhlc
